If you love the look of big lashes on your eyes, you should be familiar with different types of lash extensions. These can be glued directly to your natural lashes to make them appear voluminous. You can also go for the more affordable option, false lashes, but they do not give as authentic a finish as the extensions. Also, the lash extensions can last for 6-8 weeks, whereas the false lashes are only meant for a day- they will come off with your makeup. Thus, it can be said that lash extensions are truly game changers. But not many people know the right way of applying it, so, in this article, we will give you some tips for the same.
Sanitizing And Cleaning
As the lashes would be attached to your eyes, everything should be cleaned and sanitized properly. You should start with sanitizing the tools, which will only take a minute but would reduce the chances of infection. You should also clean your face, eyes, and hands before applying for the extension. Now dry the area around your eyes to remove all soap residue present. It would ensure that the adhesive will hold the lashes properly.
Mascara
Just like you do your eye makeup before putting on the false lashes, you should do your eye makeup before attaching the lash extensions. You should also apply some mascara before putting adhesives to attach the individual lashes. Applying mascara before will give some strength to your natural lashes. Also, putting mascara after attaching the extension might clamp the lashes together and ruin the whole process.
Wait For The Glue
Once you apply the glue to stick your lash extensions, wait for some time so that the glue can get thicker and stickier. This will help the lashes to stick better. Runny glue does not have proper adhesive properties, and that might lead your lash extensions to fall off.
Positioning Your Head
You need to tilt your head slightly back while applying for these extensions. This means your chin would be slightly up. Look into the mirror straight, and do not close the eye on which you apply the lash. It might stick your upper and lower natural lash together, which can be an uncomfortable experience.
Using Tweezers
Use clean tweezers to pick up your individual lashes and then gently stick them to your eyes where the glue is applied. Start from the outer edge and work towards the inner corner of your eyes. Attach the cluster in a way that it will attach to your natural lashes and not your eyelid skin. The positioning is very crucial as it would decide how the extensions are going to look.
Always go for high-quality lashes with great finishing. Take care of your lash extensions properly and keep them away from the water on the day of application.
